In search of new values…
The Sacred Feminine
For nearly two centuries, we have been living in a very masculine, hyper yang society, as we can see – in particular – through our architecture (with its towers rising to the sky). This excess yang or masculine energy imbalances our civilisations considerably.
All proceeding these times, have tried to move towards a masculine-feminine balance. Whenever one pole or the other is found in excess, it inevitably leads to destruction. We can see it in the collapse of every previous civilisations.
The fact that we incarnate as a man or a woman is not “by chance” or a “whim” of a stupid god! It is a wise and benevolent principle for life and the evolution of humanity as a whole.
The masculine needs the feminine to experience harmony, and the reverse is also true.
The rejection of this simple concept explains many of the problems in our society.
And the destruction of Nature is a striking example!
Indeed, Nature is a feminine force well known since time immemorial. Today, there are even some philosophers and scientists that have come to recognize this…
What is the masculine?
The masculine represents all that is moving forward like an arrow, all seeking novelty, and the future. The male wants to be individualized, to know himself and to be recognized!
If he does not get what he wants (including the satisfaction of his selfish expectations), he gets angry and destroys.
The masculine represents the individual, pioneer, decision maker, builder, creator, and powerful warrior. The masculine also symbolizes freedom, and any effort to define one’s individuality.
When these values are in excess, it brings extreme individualism so predominantly seen nowadays in this society called “libertarian”, a concept that is quite masculine, where the individual is considered primarily as a consumer that is always getting ahead, buying, throwing away and buying again, all kinds of products and objects that are increasingly ephemeral: all this is the result of excessive masculine behaviour.
What is the feminine?
The feminine is all that preserves, conserves, protects, archives, that we may preserve the memory of our past and even of our origins … to remind us who we are. Is there anyone today that knows who he is? Nobody knows anything … and everyone runs around in the biggest daze!
While the masculine can be seen as an arrow, the feminine is symbolized by a circle: of preserving values, of preservation, intimacy, softness, fertilization (in the broadest sense) of gestation (also in the broadest sense), maturity, wisdom (and lessons learned from our experiences), beauty and art.
When these values are in excess, it can bring possessiveness, jealousy, suffocation (of both things and beings alike contained within the “circle”), attachment to the past and resistance to change.
Of course, the feminine represents love, relationships, unity, harmony and community, balancing the individualistic aspect of the masculine.
Both the masculine and the feminine have the qualities and virtues necessary for human development and the development of the society in which he lives. And every human being has both sides, whether man or woman.
However, any excess of one, resulting in a lack of the other, inevitably leads to a destructive and immoral society, as we can easily see today (destruction of nature, war, terrorism, disease in growing numbers, pollution of all kinds, etc.).
The solution?
The application of true feminine values in all areas of our lives is to create a healthy rebalancing.
Currently, all of our society’s problems are trying to be solved on the basis of the question: “How?”
But “how” is always masculine and materialistic, and it only puts a band-aid on the problem without ever healing it!
Do you wish to solve all of the problems we see in our society?
Then, solve every issue with the question: “Why?”
Indeed, “why” brings us to the problem at its inner origin, its cause, which is a feminine principle. By asking the question “why” we are at the source of the problem and then we can eradicate it.
This is why women’s values are essential for our time. They alone are the source of “healing” of our problems, no matter what they are.
They have no more value than men, but they lack terribly in our current society: without them, our civilisations will disappear…
What do we mean by “sacred feminine”?
The sacred feminine is the most spiritual or inner dimension of the feminine.
Indeed, sacred means we consciously perceive the spiritual dimension of a being or thing. However, in our materialistic society, the meaning of things and beings remains secular, that is to say unconscious, or even rejecting of the sacred (because they are based solely on appearance).
‘Reality’, contrary to what materialists and atheists believe, is a fair association or combination of visible-material and the invisible-spiritual. When you are aware that everything around you is, whether manifested or material, of spiritual or suprasensible origin, then you “touch” upon the sacred.
The sacred is this consciousness that unites the material and the spiritual, Or the visible and invisible … and only the human mind can achieve this feat!
We could also say that this unites the feminine (invisible-spiritual) to the masculine (visible-material): this is what we call a realistic point of view.
When we lack the feminine point of view, this means that we are struggling to understand reality … hence a world escaping toward the virtual, that is to say towards a “de-realization” of the human: the human being, too unrealistic (because of it’s missing feminine) is being ejected increasingly from reality! It’s very dangerous.
That is why we wish to remind you of the importance of women, and even more of the sacred feminine: an invisible-spiritual dimension essential to our time (and our common future) in order to live an existence full of meaning, love and harmony.
You will find in this section, over time, various aspects of the sacred feminine…
